Improvements on Hanse 370 Mañana

My boat had a lot of slack in the steering, Had to remove the "glue bead" holding the upper pedestal. It was a "destructive job". Plan is to 3d print new mounts that will be glued to the lower pedestal. The lid on the steering gearbox was really stuck, and the upper bearing was rusted to pieces. Probably due to a Leak around the compass and drip straight down on the bearing.

1. Gearbox top lid removed, bearing inner race i still stuck around shaft, grease with rust spread over steering gear.

2. The glue grinded away with a Dremel inside to remove top pedestal.

4. The remains of the bearing and the gearbox lid with the outer race stuck inside lid.

5. The new bearing in place in the gearbox lid (with bearing SKF Explorer part no. 6008-2RS1.

6. Another person i was in contact with regarding slack in steering. He found that the four screws holding the steering wheel shaft bearing was found loose. he approved that his picture could be used. These four screws has under some circumstances led to slack in steering system" clunking" sound.

ABOUT THE DINGHY
Dinghy stored on swim platform, When sailing it will probably touch water if heeled over enough, have tried to offset dinghy to starboard because bow sits higher above water than stern pontoon.

13. Honda Honwave t32 on Båtsystem swim platform, supported by topping lift. Dinghy height above water 50cm.

14. dinghy is offset 15cm towards bow to retract stern towards centerline. Probably could have been offset more if not taking aesthetics in account.

15. Dinghy lifts up easily with topping lift.

16. Dinghy is secured with steel rods to pushpit.

17. Dinghy is secured with steel rods to pushpit.

18. Dinghy's protrusion outside sailboat hull port side.

19. Dinghy's protrusion outside sailboat hull starboard side.
